Tamar Appel serves as the Director of Education for Hidden Sparks and is the former Associate Principal of Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School for Girls in Teaneck, NJ, where she worked for 18 years as a teacher and administrator. Throughout her career, Tamar has fostered a culture of professional development, mentorship, and academic excellence. She has mentored school leaders through Prizmah’s YOU Lead Program and supported new teachers through the Jewish New Teacher Project. Tamar's own professional development includes participation in the Summer Institute for Principals at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is passionate about promoting growth for every student, teacher, and school and is excited to continue this work with Hidden Sparks.
