Science Professional Development

We’re excited to offer a series of professional development workshops in partnership with Rabbi Yaakov Lubin, co-founder and director of The Jewish Center for Science. These monthly Zoom sessions will provide educators and administrators with the unique opportunity to learn directly from Rabbi Lubin, the creator of free, NGSS-aligned, culturally sensitive science materials for grades 5-8. With a research background spanning microbiology, counter-bioterrorism, and X-ray crystallography, Rabbi Lubin brings expertise from institutions such as Hebrew University, Florida Atlantic University, and the Weizmann Institute. He has pioneered culturally responsive science programs for Jewish schools and authored four widely-used science textbooks.

In each session, participants will explore a different science unit, gaining insights into how to effectively implement these materials in the classroom. Rabbi Lubin will share best practices in science instruction, offer hands-on guidance, and provide a collaborative space for troubleshooting and peer support. This workshop series is an invaluable opportunity to enhance your science curriculum and engage students with expert-developed, culturally attuned resources.
